History
SCI Muncy has a rich history that dates back to 1920. The facility was originally known as the State Industrial Home for Women and was located in Muncy, Pennsylvania. The program focus at Muncy stressed homemaking and basic education in accordance with the industrial growth of the time period. The original purchases of property for Muncy totaled 566 acres, and the land grew to 798 acres by 1969.
